Igbo Presidency 2023: Why Igbos Just Have To Believe

Nothing is 100 percent certain in politics, but you have to try. If Buhari is reelected, in 2023, the Igbo would have a bargaining chip that cannot be easily swept off the carpet, in that Igbo would be the only group that has not produced president in 4th Republic.
Yoruba have produced; Niger Delta have produced; the North would have completed Yar Ardua’s truncated tenure. It would then be difficult not to give it to the Igbo in 2023.

If we don’t play our cards right, by 2040, we may still be talking about Igbo Presidency, without much bargaining chips.

Tinubu And The Question Of Igbo Presidency In 2023

Tinubu is more sensitive to issues like this than we sometimes give him credit for. This is someone that abandoned his Vice Presidency ambition because he saw that a Muslim-Muslim ticket may create disafection among Christians.

That is one reason he may not want to run with Atiku. In 2023, unless he decides to run with a Northern Christian, he may say “Let the Igbos run”.

Buhari And The Promise Of Igbo Presidency In 2023

Nothing is 100 percent certain in politics, but you have to try. If Buhari is reelected, in 2023, the Igbo would have a bargaining chip that cannot be easily swept off the carpet, in that Igbo would be the only group that has not produced president in 4th Reublic.

Let Ohaneze, the Youths etc, begin to put our house in order, while voting for Buhari in 2019.
What we wrote on Nairaland.

6 Reasons Buhari Is Relaxed About 2019

1. Tinubu can never join PDP, a party he bitterly fought against for 16 years. So, Atiku is without a powerful ally that can change the game.
2. Tinubu cannot drag Vice Presidency with his political son, Osinbajo. So, even if PDP offers him such, he will reject it.
3. Analysis shows that if Buhari runs with Osinbajo, Tinubu would have no choice but to remain in APC, as he cannot abandon Osinbajo and support another ticket.
4. No matter what, Tinubu would not want to leave APC, because if he leaves, he will lose the prestige of nominating the Vice President.
5. Governor Bindow of Adamawa would be used to tie Atiku down in a power struggle for Adamawa, distracting him. Remember the corruption case that was used to ‘distract’ Atiku in 2007 until very close to the election.
6. Buhari may hand over the remaining APC machinery in the South West to Tinubu. If Tinubu is happy in APC, chances of Buhari defeat in 2019 are drastically reduced. Gov Bindow will also keep Atiku bogged down in Adamawa

Zikistmovement.com reaction to AYCF call on Buhari not to stand for reelection

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum recently asked Buhari not to contest for a second term in 2019. Zikist Movement’s Reaction to AYCF: You cannot just be picking and discarding presidents when Igbos are waiting to have their own turn in 2023.

If President Buhari is not performing, call him and advice him, and even offer constructive critisism. But you don’t have the luxury of picking and discarding at this late hour.

Besides, it is Buhari’s constitutional right to stand for a second term if he so wishes. It is your right to vote him out if you can.

In as much as we are unhappy with some aspects of President Buhari’s approach to the farmer-herdsmen crisis, nuclear energy, it is wrong to blame Buhari for everything going wrong in the economy today.

President Buhari on his part should do more to show Nigerians that he feels their pains, especialy in the area of providing top class medical facillities in the country, providing jobs and cheaper food for the masses.
